In his law office, he concentrates his practice on general civil matters, including wills and estates, real estate and property, as well as civil, commercial, and business litigation. He also represents personal injury victims and other matters requiring legal help to navigate the layers of paperwork and impersonal communication faced by those who are injured.
John is Senior Deputy District Attorney in Washington County, Pennsylvania. He has over 15 years experience as a trial prosecutor in both the Washington and Greene County District Attorney's Offices, having tried 60 jury trials and over 15 bench trials to verdict in a range of offenses, including First-Degree Homicide, violent felonies, child rape, drug deliveries and conspiracies, DUI, as well as public fraud and theft offenses. He has practiced before the courts in Washington, Greene, and Fayette Counties, as well as briefed and argued before the Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania at Pittsburgh. He is also admitted to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Before fulfilling a career goal of becoming a prosecutor and joining the District Attorney's Office, John was an attorney for Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Services in Uniontown, where he represented victims of domestic violence in family law matters--PFA, custody, divorce, support--as well as low-income and disadvantaged clients in landlord-tenant, consumer, and property matters.
He is a native Buckeye, hailing from Parma Heights, Ohio. He graduated cum laude from Washington & Jefferson College in 2002, where he majored in political science and history. He continues to advise the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity chapter at W&J, and this year he will complete a six-year term on the College’s Alumni Executive Council (AEC).
He started his radio career over 25 years ago at W&J. John has been heard on stations in Western Pennsylvania as well as Akron/Canton, and now hosts Cruisin’ the 60s every Sunday afternoon on Washington's WJPA 95.3FM/1450 AM. He has also been in demand for commercial voiceover work.
Returning home for law school, John graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University in 2005. He received the Federal Bar Association Award in Constitutional Law and was honored to assist Dr. David Forte in his editing of the Heritage Guide to the Constitution. He started his legal career as a law clerk, and later a staff attorney, at McLaughlin & McCaffrey, LLP, a boutique white-collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation firm in Cleveland, where he played a part in trial preparation and briefing on federal mail and wire fraud, gambling, money laundering, and False Claims Act offenses, as well as tobacco and asbestos mass toxic-tort issues.
He is past-Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Washington Symphony Orchestra, and is a lector and eucharistic minister at St. Oscar Romero Parish in Canonsburg. He also trains in the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate, in which he holds the rank of Shodan (1st degree black belt).
